Romney Visiting Miami Wednesday

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Republican 2012 Presidential front-runner Mitt Romney made his way to Miami Wednesday after attending a fund-raiser in Boca Raton Tuesday.

Romney, who through early polling has an edge over his GOP counterparts, was brought to the fundraiser in Boca by real-estate developer Ned Siegel.

Florida once again will be a large swing state in the 2012 Presidential campaign. President Barack Obama carried Florida in 2008 on his way to winning the election over Republican nominee John McCain.

Romney finished second in the 2008 Florida primary to McCain. He's already set up a Florida finance team and is working to build a base in the Sunshine State in his bid for the presidency.

The only thing that could be problematic for GOP candidates heading into 2012 will be the poll numbers for Governor Rick Scott. If Scott can get his numbers up, then the GOP has a good chance of carrying the state.

Otherwise, the GOP will be in a tough battle for all the Florida electoral votes.
