JACKSONVILLE (CBSMiami/AP) — Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney told Jacksonville University graduates to get a life.
That's what the former Massachusetts governor told the nearly 900 students earning degrees Saturday, saying sitting around doing nothing is far more boring and unfulfilling.
Romney discussed the satisfaction of working, getting married, having children and public service. And he said wealth is not measured in riches or professional achievements, but in friendships and family, learning, faith in God and what they contribute to others.
And he said like his loss to President Barack Obama, failures are inevitable, but they don't define character.
Romney said even Adam and Eve would have been bored to tears if they'd remained in the Garden of Eden with no job, no kids and no challenges.
