MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Three men, Miami Beach Police say, are responsible for two armed robberies appeared before a judge Wednesday.
They are behind bars, thanks to one of the victims' friends who knew exactly what to do.
"I know that this part of the city is really okay but you never know. I was really, really scared," said the victim's roommate who wanted to remain unidentified.
The victim was still too shaken up to speak about the incident.
According to police, the 30-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint as she got out of her vehicle on Meridian Avenue and 14th Street on Monday.
"He took the phone and she was really, really scared," said the victim's roommate.
Three men took off in a gray Mustang. The victim ran inside her apartment where her roommate called police who spotted a vehicle matching the description on Alton Road and 4th Street.
"In around three hours, they took the guy and they took the phone," said the victim's roommate.
Police arrested 19-year-old Hakeem Drane, 22-year-old Dwayne Battle, and 19-year old Keith Thomas.
Police say besides solving their crime, they also solved another.
"Subsequently, our investigation lead us to the information that these three individuals had committed just hours earlier a similar crime in the city of Miramar," said Ernesto Rodriguez with Miami Beach Police.
"Now I can sleep better," said the victim's roommate. "I feel more safe."
