NORTHEAST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police continue to investigate a deadly shooting at a Northeast Miami-Dade apartment complex Friday morning.
According to police, the shooting took place around 4:30 a.m. at the Vista Palm Apartment Complex at 417 NE 191st Street.
Police said the shooting took place during the course of an armed robbery and Kervin Jolicoeur, 32, was shot and killed.
Jolicoeur was a security guard who lived in the apartment complex.
Neighbors said a female postal worker was robbed in the complex a little before 4 a.m.
"They pointed a gun at her and told her to give them everything she's got ," said Denise Tataglia. "So she gave them her keys, her cell phone, everything."
The gunman is still on the loose and neighbors have been left with more questions than answers.
"I don't want to pay rent and then have to deal with this," said neighbor Melissa Harell.
"We're all in the wrong place at the wrong time here," Tataglia said. "Neighbors are concerned. We are all concerned. Most of us are working people here and we have children, but there's been problems in the neighborhood."
