Rina's Forecast Keeps Fantasy Fest On Schedule
KEY WEST, Fla. (CBSMiami.com) – Thanks to rapidly weakening Hurricane Rina, Florida Keys officials said Thursday Fantasy Fest is continuing as scheduled.
Keys officials had been keeping an eye on Hurricane Rina, but as of the 8 a.m. forecast from the National Hurricane Center; the Keys are no longer in the cone of uncertainty.
Rina is expected to continue to dissipate and circle around the area between Cuba and the Yucatan Peninsula.
The Monroe County emergency management agency will continue to monitor the storm, but said no precautionary measures are even being considered.
Fantasy Fest's end will come Sunday and it, along with all other Monroe County events, are not expected to be impacted.
