Richie Sambora Reportedly Fired From Bon Jovi
HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) -- The music world is buzzing with news Richie Sambora has parted ways with Bon Jovi.
The news comes after 30 years of making music together.
According to the website RumorFix.com, Sambora was fired from his rock band and will not be returning to the group's concert tour.
The website's sources said Sambora wanted more money and front man Jon Bon Jovi said no to the demand.
Sambora, a Bon Jovi guitarist, reportedly was making $2 million a month and 20 percent of the profits of each concert.
In a massive drop in payments, his replacement is reportedly making $10,000 a month.
Sambora is expected to continue getting royalty checks since he co-wrote many of the band's biggest hits and his image appears on merchandise, the report said.
The rocker, who has not performed with the band since April, after pulling out to deal with a "personal matter" said he has been spending a lot of time with his teenage daughter Ava, working on his fashion line Nikki Rich, developing his own TV show and working on his own music.
A source with the band told RumorFix that Richie wants to go back on stave as it is his first love. The source said Sambora's "really upset over the news". Bon Jovi's record label could not be reached for comment.
