Reports: Heat Come To Terms With Granger, McRoberts

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It appears that Pat Riley felt he deliberated long enough on how to build around the Big Three.

While free agents cannot officially sign with new teams until July 10, verbal commitments are being made.

First, Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Heat have agreed to terms on a two-year, $4.2 million deal with Danny Granger.  Additionally, ESPN is reporting that the Heat have also reached an agreement on a four-year deal with Josh McRoberts worth an estimated $23 million.

McRoberts' deal comes with a player option after the third season.  The versatile power forward will help the Heat in the rebounding department, an area that they struggled throughout the 2013-14 season.

He is also known as a very good passer and can shoot from distance at a high percentage.

Riley released the following statement regarding McRoberts: "Miami HEAT President of Basketball Operations Pat Riley announced today that the team has been engaged in negotiations with free agent forward Josh McRoberts and intends to sign him to a contract at the conclusion of the NBA Moratorium Period."

Granger's two-year contract has a player option after the first year.  Granger had been the heart and soul of the Indiana Pacers until injuries limited him to just 34 games over the past two seasons.

He was then dealt at the trade deadline and ended up with the Los Angeles Clippers where he was used sparingly but struggled to find his place on a team that already had several stars with well-defined rolls.
