Jets Hire Sparano As Offensive Coordinator
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Former Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano didn't have to wait long to find a new job and it's one where he can stick it to his former team at least twice a year.
Sparano was officially named the New York Jets' offensive coordinator Wednesday.
It will be Sparano's first stint as an offensive coordinator, though he was a play-caller in Dallas for a season.
Sparano was last seen being unceremoniously fired with three games to go in the season by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross. Sparano was expected to be fired at the end of the season.
Sparano compiled a 29-32 record as the head coach of the Dolphins.
Sparano has also been a tight ends coach, offensive line coach, and running game coordinator during his NFL career, which started in 1999.
