Report: Forcier Transferring To UM
MIAMI (CBS4) - Former Michigan Wolverines quarterback Tate Forcier has decided to bring his game to South Beach and suit up for the University of Miami Hurricanes.
Forcier made an official visit to Miami on Monday and decided to pull the trigger and transfer to Miami, according to the Palm Beach Post. He will have to sit out one season per NCAA rules, but will be eligible to play in 2012 and 2013.
Forcier is a former starting quarterback for the Wolverines under former Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez. He had problems staying healthy, but threw for 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in his only year as a starter in 2009.
Forcier was eventually replaced by current Wolverines starting quarterback Denard Robinson. Forcier was deemed ineligible for the Wolverines Gator Bowl loss last season.
Forcier chose Miami over Kansas State, Arizona, Washington, and Montana. Forcier's decision could impact former Rutgers quarterback Tom Savage's decision on schools, though the two quarterbacks are almost polar opposites when it comes to the type of offense they can run.
