Report: Florida Sees Crime Drop In First Half Of 2014

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/AP) — Crime across the State of Florida dropped for the first half of 2014 according to a new 2014 Semi-Annual Uniform Crime Report out Friday.
The report compares the previous year at the same time.
While crime was down overall, the report shows a 0.1 percent increase in violent crimes, such as murder, forcible sex offenses and aggravated assault. Domestic violence went up nearly a half percent.
Law enforcement officers made 444,558 arrests from January through June 2014. Three law enforcement officers died from criminal causes while on duty and one died accidentally.
