Report: Fins Working Out Donte Stallworth
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins are in desperation mode for help at the wide receiver position and are bringing in a player who may not have the best memories of time he spent in Miami.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the Dolphins are working out several receivers at the team facility in Davie Thursday including Donte Stallworth, who was cut from the Patriots roster earlier in the week.
Stallworth has played in the league for 10 years and caught 320 passes for 4,774 yards and 34 touchdowns. But, he no longer has the elite speed that once defined his career, but would still likely serve as an upgrade to most of the receivers on the roster.
But for Stallworth, he'd return to Miami just a few years after he plead guilty to DUI manslaughter for hitting and killing a man with his car on a Miami causeway after drinking the night before at a hotel.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, the Dolphins are also reportedly trying to trade for Green Bay Packers receiver James Jones. Last season, Jones caught 38 passes for 635 yards and 7 touchdowns. He'd arguably be the Dolphins' number one receiver if the team acquires him.
