Report: Dolphins Bring Mark Ingram In For Workout
MIAMI (CBS4) - The Miami Dolphins are notorious for keeping things close to the vest. So, it shouldn't come as a shock that in the last 48 hours, the team has worked out the top two players from the state of Alabama.
According to Profootballtalk.com, the Dolphins worked out Mark Ingram on Monday. Ingram is the top running back in the upcoming NFL Draft, and could be just what the ailing Dolphins offense.
Ingram was coached by former Dolphins coach Nick Saban. He comes from a pro-style offense that utilized him as part of a tandem with fellow running back Trent Richardson. Ingram won the 2009 Heisman Trophy after running for more than 1,600 yards.
Profootballtalk said that their source said Ingram looked "very fit and explosive," and the Dolphins are "very impressed."
With the Dolphins running back situation in flux, it could be the logical fit for the Dolphins to draft Ingram. Or, the Fins could try to trade up and target the other player they worked out on Sunday.
2010 Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton worked out with the Fins over the weekend. Newton will not make it to the Dolphins at number 15. He likely will be picked in the top five and could be the number one overall draft pick of the Carolina Panthers.
