Report: Bridgewater Declares For NFL Draft
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Louisville Cardinals quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who also starred at Miami Northwestern High School, will forego his senior season of college and enter the 2014 NFL Draft, according to ESPN's Brett McMurphy.
Bridgewater has been a star at Louisville since coming out of Miami Northwestern as a four-star recruit, according to Rivals.com. Bridgewater became a starter in the fourth game of his freshman season and never gave up the starting job again.
His Louisville team demolished the Florida Gators in last January's Sugar Bowl and set Bridgewater up for a stellar senior season. He completed 268 of 382 passes (70.2%) for 3,523 yards, 28 touchdowns, and just four interceptions.
Bridgewater saved the best performance of the season for the Citrus Bowl against the Miami Hurricanes. The Louisville star completed 35 of 46 passes for 447 yards and three touchdowns while leading the Cardinals to a 36-9 demolition of the Canes.
For his career, Bridgewater completed 68 percent of his passes for 9,370 yards, 69 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.
Bridgewater is considered the top quarterback in the 2014 NFL Draft class and could be selected as high as number one overall by the Houston Texans.
