Report: A-Rod Set To Meet With MLB
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Biogenesis performance enhancing drug scandal in Major League Baseball will continue to build towards a crescendo this week when Alex Rodriguez is scheduled to sit down with Major League Baseball officials to talk about the clinic.
According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald, MLB investigators believe they can prove A-Rod used PED's and was "so desperate to hide his cheating that he purchased and destroyed evidence of his doping, sources told the Miami Herald Wednesday."
MLB officials are set to meet with Rodriguez Friday to talk about the defunct Biogenesis anti-aging clinic. The clinic allegedly provided PED's to dozens of baseball players including A-Rod and Ryan Braun. The Miami New Times opened the doors to Biogenesis earlier this year with an expose on the clinic exposing the clientele.
Since then, MLB has been on a crusade to get the evidence from Biogenesis and former employees to take down A-Rod and other players. A-Rod hasn't played in the majors this year while rehabbing from hip surgery.
The Friday meeting between MLB and A-Rod is expected to take place in Tampa and could determine if A-Rod is owed tens of millions of dollars from the New York Yankees. Multiple reports say MLB is looking to suspend A-Rod and possibly Braun for up to 100 games due to the Biogenesis scandal.
