Rental Car Goes Up In Flames On Dolphin Expressway
MIAMI (CBS4) - Two German tourists are lucky to be alive after barely escaping their burning rental car Tuesday afternoon.
The couple, who had just flown in to Miami International Airport, say their picked up the rental car and were headed down to the Keys on the westbound SR 836/Dolphin Expressway when something went terribly wrong just before the SW 27th Avenue exit.
They were able to grab their luggage out of the truck before the car was fully engulfed.
Fire crews quickly arrived on the scene and were able to contain the flames on the smoldering car.
No one was injured.
