Reggie Bush's Days As A Dolphin May Be Over
DAVIE (CBSMiami) – Reggie Bush's days of donning the orange and teal may have come to an end.
Three teams have reportedly contacted Bush's representation on the first day of the NFL's three-day
Negotiating period, according to a source of CBS4 news partners The Miami Herald.
However, the Dolphins were not one of the three, according to the source. Last month it was reported that the Dolphins and Bush's representation discussed a possible deal. The team reportedly did not want to overpay Bush, which meant he'd likely have to take a pay cut from the $5 million salary he received last year.
Detroit and Arizona are among the teams said to have expressed interest.
Since joining the Dolphins via trade before the 2011 season, Bush, 28, averaged 1,036 rushing yards per season and has scored 12 touchdowns.
The Dolphins will reportedly go forward with Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas.
As for Jake Long, the Dolphins did not show any urgency in re-signing him Saturday morning.
Bryan McCann, who played in eight games for Miami last season, will soon be out of contract. McCann was informed by general manager Jeff Ireland last week that the Dolphins do not plan to offer him a tender of any sort. McCann, a restricted free agent, will explore his options but could return to the Dolphins down the road.
