Reggie Bush Set To Play Against Panthers
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Fans of the Miami Dolphins have been clamoring for more speed on the field for decades. Friday night, Dolfans will get their first look at the man the team hopes will help the Fins put the pedal to the metal.
Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano said Wednesday that running back Reggie Bush will make his Dolphins debut against the Carolina Panthers Friday night.
"We are gonna use him some," Sparano said. "Get him some time in there. Again, I gotta give five backs a look right here so we're gonna play Reggie, play Daniel (Thomas) early in this game and then you know see how we fall with the rest."
Bush has regularly been one of the last players to leave the practice field. He's putting in extra time with the Dolphins in hopes of putting his injury-prone days in New Orleans behind him.
"I'm not asking him to do anything, you know, anything like that," Sparano said. "I just know that from the first day he was out here on the practice field I seen him doing extra out here."
Sparano said the running game is slow developing right now because of the missing offseason training activities and mini-camps. Still, he expects more from his running game.
"Right now, you kinda need to see more of those groups together and it's hard to do when you're evaluating a lot of players," Sparano said. "I just watched the tape from the run period today and there's some good creases in there and just some opportunities that we need to take a little better advantage of."
Friday's game can be seen exclusively on CBS4 at 7:30 p.m.
