Bush Knee Injury Not Serious
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush tweeted Monday that he "received some great news" on the status of his left knee injury after an MRI was performed.
Bush was told that he had no structural damage to his knee and the Dolphins leading offensive player is listed as questionable, but his availability next week will depend on how much he can practice during the coming week.
Bush had 61 yards on 10 carries, the last coming on a first-and-10 from the Miami 20. He was tackled and rolled over once, grabbing at his left knee before being tended to by trainers. Bush took what appeared to be an inadvertent helmet to the kneecap.
Bush was able to limp off the field on his own power but did not return to the game. Followed by members of the team's medical staff, Bush left the field through one of the former baseball dugouts at Sun Life Stadium, which is closer to the Dolphins' sideline than the end-zone tunnel.
Bush entered the day second in the NFL with 241 rushing yards, second only to Buffalo's C.J. Spiller, who was also injured against Cleveland earlier Sunday.
After three games this season, Bush is averaging a superb 6.0 yards per carry and just more than 100 yards per game. The Dolphins can ill afford to lose Bush for any significant amount of time this season.
