Regalado On Castro: "What You See Here Are People Who Have Suffered"

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado took the streets early Saturday morning along with hundreds of other Cuban Americans to celebrate the death of former Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
"As a Cuban American I am part of this celebration and the reason I am part of this celebration is because Fidel Castro hurt many generations of Cubans."
As cars drove by and honked, and people sang and danced, Mayor Regalado explained why he felt it was important to take part.
"It damaged the fiber of the Cuban people not only in Cuba but here in exile. What you see here are people who have suffered. What you see are people celebrating because of the fathers and grandfathers that were hurt and attacked and killed by Fidel Castro so no matter what the polls say people are celebrating the death of a dictator, not the death of a leader but the death of a dictator."
It was shortly after midnight when Cuban leader Raúl Castro announced on state television, his voice trembling, that his older brother had died at 10:29 p.m.

Upon hearing the news, South Florida's Cuban exile community flooded the streets.
"And they have all the reason in the world to celebrate as the world celebrated when Hitler died, today the Cubans celebrate the death of Fidel Castro and it will go on for hours and for days," said Mayor Regalado.
