MIAMI (The Sports Xchange) – Senior guard Davon Reed scored 17 points to lead five double-figure scorers for hot-shooting Miami in a 94-56 rout of North Florida on Wednesday night at UNF Arena in Jacksonville, Fla.
Junior guard Ja'Quan Newton added 16 points, freshman forward Dewan Huell 15, freshman guard DJ Visiljevic 13 and sophomore forward Anthony Lawrence 10 as the Hurricanes (2-0) shot 54.4 percent from field.

North Florida struggled from the floor, shooting below 30 percent for much of the game before ending at 34.4 percent. Miami also dominated the boards with a 46-31 rebound margin.
The Hurricanes took command midway through the second half, using a 14-0 spurt to fuel a 27-4 run in the final 10 minutes of the half to go to the locker room up 48-20.
The Hurricanes came out of the locker room and scored the first 11 points of the second half to complete a 38-4 stretch and increase their lead to 59-20 in just a little over four minutes after the intermission. Miami's biggest lead was 48 points on several couple occasions, the last at 88-40 with 3:51 left in the game.
