Ready, Set, Survive: Relay For Life Event Rallies Hundreds
CORAL SPRINGS (CBS4) - Hundreds of sneakers were laced up for a great cause in Broward County over the weekend.
The 11th Annual "Relay For Life" event kicked off bright and early Saturday morning at Coral Springs High School. Many participants even camped out to make sure the 6:00 a.m. opening ceremonies were not missed.
More than 800 people participated in this year's festivities, which was highlighted by performances by local bands, the Miami Heat dancers and Heat mascot Burnie.
More than $80,000 dollars was raised for the American Cancer Society.
More than $1 million has been raised in the event's eleven years.
