Quinnipiac Poll: Clinton Topping Trump By 7 Points

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Hillary Clinton is topping Donald Trump with a seven-point lead, according to a new Quinnipiac University national poll.
The poll - released Wednesday - shows Clinton with 47 percent voter support and Trump at 40 percent. Libertarian Party Candidate Gary Johnson has 7 percent voter support and Green Party candidate Jill Stein has 1 percent.
An October 7th survey showed Clinton carried the lead with 45 percent and Trump had 40 percent.
Trump's lead among men and white voters all but vanishes in the newly released poll.
Trump leads with 43 percent support from male voters and Clinton is close behind with 41 percent.Forty-five percent of white voters support Trump but Clinton again trails behind with 41 percent.
When it comes to women, 52 percent back Clinton and 37 percent support Trump.
As for the news media, 55 percent of likely voters believe the media is biased against Trump.
"Donald Trump made the charge, and American likely voters agree: There IS a media bias against the GOP contender," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll."But does that explain his lackluster standing with his core base?"
The results from the poll come from surveys conducted from October 17th - 18th. Quinnipiac University polled 1,007 likely voters nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points.
