Quick Moving Cindy Gains Strength In Atlantic

MIAMI (CBS4) - Tropical Storm Cindy gained a little strength overnight as it continued its northeastward trek across the northern Atlantic.

At 5 a.m. the third tropical storm of this year's hurricane season was about 975 miles east-northeast of Bermuda. The storm's maximum sustained winds had increased to 60 miles per hour has it move to the northeast at 28 miles per hour.

Cindy is expected to stay on a northeastern path over the next few days and may even increase in speed. However, the system is expected to weaken in the next day or so as it moves over increasingly colder water.
