Quadruple Murder Suspect Arrested, Boy Found Safe

TAMPA (CBSMiami/AP) — A missing 4-year-old Florida boy with autism is now safe after being found with the suspect in a quadruple murder.

Ismael Tristan Santisteban became the focus of an Amber Alert after four bodies were found near his home last week.

Investigators located the boy Thursday at a hotel in downtown Tampa.

He was with Adam Matos, the man suspected of killing the four adults found near the child's home.

"We found this little boy. He is alive, he is well and he's in the city of Tampa right now and the good thing is he's in the care of the sheriff's office the police department, he will be taken care of. As for the case of Adam Matos he is where he should be, in handcuffs right now. He has been arrested on agg assault charges from the domestic incident that occurred here on August the 28th. Umm, the other things we can tell you right now is he is our suspect for the homicide of the four individuals," said  Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.

Police believe Matos is the child's father.

The search for Matos and the boy began Thursday after Sheriff's deputies in nearby Pasco County conducted a welfare check at a Hudson home. The deputies who stopped by the home noticed a bad odor. They walked down the street toward an area where birds were circling and found four bodies piled on top of each other.

Matos quickly became a suspect. He had been seen in the area recently and  Sheriff  Nocco said the killings were not a random act.

Officials have not released the names of the victims or said how they may be related to the boy and to Matos.

The investigation is continuing.
