FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A man suspected in a string of purse snatchings in South Florida went before a judge Wednesday morning.
Gregory Rodriguez, charged currently with two purse thefts in Southwest Ranches, told the judge he did it because he was down on his luck. He said he was recently laid off from his job and last month was evicted from his home.
In addition to the theft charges, he's also facing drug possession and trafficking charges.
Rodriguez has a criminal history which includes burglary and stalking.
The judge set his bond at $13-thousand.
