Proposed License Plate Would Target Human Trafficking

MIAMI (CBSMiami/NSF) -- A House Republican is looking to create a license plate that would raise money to help victims of human trafficking. .
Rep. Jennifer Sullivan, R-Mount Dora, filed a bill (HB 1013) on Friday that calls for developing the "Safe and Free Florida" license plate.
The word "Florida" would appear at the top of the plate and the words "End Human Trafficking" would appear at the bottom.
Motorists would pay an extra $25 for the plates, with the money going to the attorney general's office for distribution to non-governmental organizations that provide services to victims of human trafficking.
Attorney General Pam Bondi has made a priority of trying to curb human trafficking in the state.
Sullivan's bill will be considered during the legislative session that starts Jan. 12th.
