President Obama Returning To Miami Monday
MIAMI (CBS4) – South Florida is about to get another presidential visit. President Barack Obama is set to return to Miami on Monday, June 13th for a series of campaign fundraisers that will not only raise money for Democrats but also for his own re-election campaign.
Mr. Obama is expected to arrive in Miami in the afternoon. He'll head to the Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts for the "Obama Victory Fund 2012 Kick-Off Reception." The event is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
Prices start at $250 for a limited time then jump to $500 for general admission. If you want an up-close view of the president, be prepared to shell out $1,000 for floor seating and $2,500 for front row seats. Members of the Young Democrats and College Democrats however can get tickets starting at just $44. You can buy tickets here.
In addition to the big event at the performing arts center, Obama will attend a $10,000-per-person reception at the home of former Samsonite CEO Steven Green and wife Dorothea. Green was President Bill Clinton's ambassador to Singapore.
Obama also will attend a dinner at the Miami home of Dr. J.P. and Maggie Austin. A check for $35,800 gets you a seat.
The President will spend the night in Miami and depart on Tuesday morning.
