Premiere Of "Catching Fire" Heats Up L.A.
LOS ANGELES (CBSMiami) -- One of the most anticipated movies of the year premiered in Los Angeles Monday and hundreds of people gathered for the big event.
The cast of The Hunger Games sequel, "Catching Fire" appeared on the red carpet including the star of the film, actress Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen.
Lawrence arrived at the Nokia Theater in L.A. in a body-baring purple Dior Haute Couture gown and the crowd of fans went wild.

Despite the star power at the premiere, the film's other stars including Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz and Sam Claflin — skipped most of the press line.
They might be tired. Los Angeles was the sixth stop for the film, which had already premiered in London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid and Rome.
The "Hunger Games" movies are based on a book trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins.
The first movie, "The Hunger Games", a book adaptation about children being selected for a televised fight to the death, grossed nearly $700 million dollars worldwide and became the surprise hit of 2012.
After its success, studio bosses signed off on three sequels; "Catching Fire", and "Mockingjay" parts one and two which are out in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
"Catching Fire" the second installment in The Hunger Games trilogy opens in theaters on Friday, Nov. 22nd.
