The Things You Can Buy With Powerball's $400 Million Jackpot

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Stores across Florida are printing up dreams – Powerball tickets for Wednesday's drawing.
"First thing I'd buy, definitely a house in the Doral area," said Suyan Castellano after he bought his ticket.
As of Monday morning, it reached $400 million. That's because the jackpot has rolled 17 times since November!
So what would you do with all that money? The Jill's Real Estate team knows how to spend some of it. They're showing off one of their listings on Palm Island. It is a steal for $13.9 million.
"Not only do they get the house," explains agent Jill Eber, "but they have 100 feet on the water here so they can get an 80-foot yacht to go with the house."
Or how about Chateau De Versailles? It's a 19 bedroom, 21 bath house on the Hillsboro mile. It is a whopping $159 million. And that's still in the budget.
Of course a house like that isn't complete without a nice car in the driveway.
A salesman at Braman Motors showed of a $350,000 Bentley, but with a $400 million jackpot, you could splurge on someone more pricey.
"This is a 2008 Bugatti Veyron," Alvaro Borge showed CBS4 at Braman Motors. "It's available at $1.689 million."
Even spending more than a million and a half on a car, there's still money left over.
How about giving to charity?
"I can donate to, definitely, St. Jude Children's cancer research," Alina Macdonale said.
Camillus House could do a lot of good with that money. Anyone could.
"I think it can end homelessness here in Miami, right off the bat," said Sam Gil from Camillus House.
Here's a tip that won't cost you anything. Even if you don't win the big bucks, you can still be an appreciated philanthropist. Just a few dollars a month can make a big difference to someone.
"You're not going to win $400 million every day, maybe you got $40 and with $40 here at Camillus house you can probably feed about 20 people," said Gil.
The drawing is Wednesday night, January 6th.
"We would love for Wednesday's drawing to result in Florida's 205th POWERBALL millionaire," said Florida Lottery Secretary Tom Delacenserie.
The chances of winning are one in 292 million.
