Pouncey Declines Apology For Baseball Cap
DAVIE (CBS4/AP) — A Miami Dolphins player has declined to apologize for a baseball cap he wore showing support for former college teammate Aaron Hernandez.
Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey has was asked about the cap following the Dolphins' first training camp practice Sunday.
Pouncey said he didn't want to discuss his cap because he wanted to focus on football.
His twin brother, Maurkice, apologized for wearing the baseball shortly after receiving negative feedback.
The Pounceys were photographed a week ago wearing hats that read "Free Hernandez" during their birthday party in Miami.
Hernandez played at the University of Florida with the Pounceys in 2007-09. The former New England Patriots tight end is charged with a murder in Massachusetts and has pleaded not guilty.
