Training Grenade Found At Waste Management Center In Pembroke Pines
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Pembroke Pines police said the grenade found Monday morning at a local waste management center was a training grenade.
Earlier in the day, the grenade was found during trash sorting at the plant located in the 20700 block of Pembroke Road.
The bomb squad was notified and they determined the device was not a live explosive but used for training.
PPPD is on scene at Waste Management (20701 Pembroke Rd) regarding a possible grenade that was located during garbage sorting. Police did not say how the grenade might have ended up at the location.
No word if the training grenade belongs to local police agency or the military.
The device had been isolated near the back of the facility and presented no danger to the community.
