PANAMA CITY BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) - A popular attraction on Panama City Beach for decades has been given its walking papers.
The Miracle Strip amusement park is being evicted from the property it leases. The landowner says the amusement park owes more than $328,000 in back rent.
Property owner William R. Dozier and BCWDS Holdings LLC filed a lawsuit for eviction of Miracle Strip Carousel on October 27th.
The park has been closed since September.
According to court records a summons was delivered to Jenny Meeks, the registered agent for the company, on Oct. 27. The company had 20 days to respond. A default judgment was entered against Miracle Strip last week for "failure to answer or respond" to the complaint.
