Pompano Beach Lifts Boil Water Order

POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) – A boil water order for several southern neighborhoods of Pompano Beach has been lifted.

The precautionary advisory was issued Monday after a six-inch water main ruptured.

The line was repaired and the system flushed, but city officials at the time said it would take at least 48 hours until they knew if the water was safe to drink.  Test results from two water samples showed it met or exceeded state standards.

The areas affected were from SE 22nd Avenue from SE 9th Street north to the cul-de-sac, SE 8th Court from SE 22nd Avenue east to the Intracoastal Waterway, SE 8th Street from SE 22nd Avenue east to the Intracoastal Waterway and the cul-de-sacs north of SE 8th Street; Buttonwood Court, Cypress Court, Sabal Court and Lakeview Road.
