Poll: Trump Back Up, Cruz Moves Into 2nd

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Presidential hopeful Donald Trump is still gaining ground with Republican voters, according to a CBS News poll conducted nationwide.
Trump is up 13 points since October to 35 percent, his highest level of support in CBS News polling.
Ted Cruz has moved into second place at 16 percent while Ben Carson, who led the October poll, has dropped to third at 13 percent. Marco Rubio is in fourth with 9 percent and Jeb Bush falls to his lowest percentage to date in CBS polling with 3 percent.
Trump supporters seemingly have been the most firm as 51 percent of his backers say their minds are made up and he has their vote. Only a quarter of voters for any other candidate feel the same way about their selection.
Trump leads among both men and women, with more than a 20-point lead among non-college graduates and a smaller lead among those with a college degree.
However, Cruz is gaining support with evangelicals. It's the group that Carson led in October but Trump has kept up with Cruz there as well as with very conservative Republicans.
On the democratic side, Hillary Clinton (52%) leads Bernie Sanders (32%) by 20 points. Martin O'Malley with just 2 percent has assured it to continue to be a two-candidate race.
When asked about their level of enthusiasm should a Republican or Democrat win, Independent voters showed more concern about Trump (67 percent) than with Clinton (59 percent).
