Poll: Romney Leads By 17 In Florida
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Despite the best hopes of the GOP-led Florida Legislature, it appears the Florida Primary may be a complete blowout in two weeks.
According to a new poll from the American Research Group, Mitt Romney has opened up a 17 point lead on his closest competitor, Newt Gingrich. Romney received 42 percent of the vote in the poll, compared to Gingrich's 25 percent.
No other candidate polled in double-digits in the ARG poll. Rick Santorum came the closest to double-digits at nine percent.
According to the poll, Romney leads amongst likely Republican voters who consider themselves members of the tea party and amongst non-tea party members. Romney also has a large lead amongst women GOP voters.
