Poll: Crist Leads Scott 52-40
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – Governor Rick Scott has sought recently to moderate his message and diverge to a degree from his tea party past. But it may not be enough as a new poll shows Governor Scott with a lot of ground to make up against the presumed Democratic nominee Charlie Crist.
In the latest Public Policy Polling firm, a Democratic firm, Crist currently leads Scott in a head-to-head race by a 52-40 percent margin, according to Politico. The PPP poll found Scott's approval rating hovering around 33 percent compared with a 57 percent disapproval rating, Politico reported.
While PPP is said to lean Democratic, its 2012 polls were some of the most accurate of the entire election cycle.
If Scott was facing former Democratic Mayor Pam Iorio, he's trailing 44-37 percent and finally in a rematch with 2010 Democratic opponent Alex Sink, Scott's down by five points, according to Politico.
