Police Seek Public's Help In Solving Killing Of Teen Girl Outside Popular Miami Restaurant
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami-Dade police detectives are seeking the public's help with any information into the killing of a 16-year-old teen outside a popular Miami restaurant.
Police say Ana Alvarez-Hernandez was killed at around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 7, in the parking lot of the 94th Aero Squadron restaurant, located in the 1300 block of NW 57 Avenue.
According to investigators, Alvarez-Hernandez was at the parking lot when a fight broke out between two groups of males.
Police said at least one of the male subjects pulled a gun from a vehicle and began shooting.
Alvarez-Hernandez ran to seek cover from the gunfire but was struck once and seriously wounded, police said.
She was taken to a nearby hospital by a friend, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities say there is up to $3,000 reward if your tip leads to the arrest of the suspect or suspects and all calls are kept anonymous.
The restaurant is located near Miami's International Airport.
