Missing Fort Lauderdale Woman Found Unharmed
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - The search for a missing Fort Lauderdale woman who police believed vanished while walking her dog Sunday ended early Tuesday morning, when she was found safe at a friend's home.
Danielle Miyoshi Taggart, 30, left her condo at the Water Garden on North New River Drive around 1 a.m. Sunday morning to walk her cocker spaniel, Marley.
Miyoshi never returned.
Her fiance, Michael Salomon, told CBS 4 News Miyoshi was up late working on a project for their web design company while he slept. He said she left her keys, phone and purse behind when she left, even leaving the front door unlocked.
"It doesn't make any sense," Salomon told CBS 4's Carey Codd. "It's not like her to just walk off with our pet and not take anything with her. It doesn't make any sense."
Police had issued an alert for Taggart, asking for help in locating her.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday, about 48 hours after she had left her condo, they issued a statement saying she had been located, was "physically fine" and "willingly went to a friend's residence where she remains at this time."
Police said her dog was also with her.
The statement said Taggart is in contact with her family, who had been notified she had been located.
The statement said nothing about about her reason for abruptly leaving the condo, or about her fiance, who expressed extreme concern about Taggart's 'disappearance'.
"It's killing me," he said. "I just don't even know. Inside, I'm just freaking out."
Salomon said he welcomed crime scene investigators from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department into his condo Monday evening, allowing them to search whatever they wanted in hopes of finding Miyoshi.
Salomon said the couple got engaged at Christmas and was planning a spring wedding.
