Police Search For Men Accused Of Robbing Family Business
MIAMI (CBSMiami) --Police in Miami are looking for four men connected to a violent armed robbery at a business earlier this month.
The hold-up happened at the Solano bill payment and check cashing center on N.W. 17 Ave. and 36 St. in Miami on November 2nd.
Several people were inside the business at the time, including a mother and her 4-year-old daughter.
"They put the AK in her head and told me, 'Do not move, if not, I shoot you and your little girl'," Raisa Ariza recalled.
Surveillance video shows Ariza clutching her daughter while a man holding a gun pointed it straight at them as he demanded money.
"These two thugs enter the business, armed. One of them with an Uzi machine gun, with a 30-round capacity magazine," Sgt. Freddie Cruz told CBS 4's Lauren Pastrana.
Employee Jose Severino was closing up shop with the bad guys stormed in.
"They grabbed me and pushed on the door," Severino said.
He said he had seen the men checking the place out through the door and tried to be cautious while exiting.
He tried to close the door on them when they tried to force their way in, but in the process, the little girl ended up outside.
One of the armed robbers eventually shoved the girl back inside.
"They didn't want to give me my daughter," Ariza said. "I said, 'here's my purse. Here's everything. Let me get my daughter back and that's it'."
Ariza's daughter is safe, but has a lot of questions about what happened.
"She still talks about it," Ariza said. "She asked me to buy her a gun and everything."
Several other people were inside the business at the time.
No one was hurt.
Police said the men managed to steal cash and cell phones before leaving the scene in a waiting getaway car.
"This is quite disturbing for us," Sgt. Cruz explained. "This is a gang that at any point can strike again."
Investigators say the men got away in a dark-colored Chevy Impala.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
