Police Search For Man In Armed Robbery Of Gas Station
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Police are looking for a man who walked into a gas station early Wednesday, pulled a ski mask over his face, pulled out a gun, and fled with cash, cigarettes and jewelry.
The suspect, according to the Miami Police Department, walked into the BP Gas Station at 1601 SW 37th Avenue.
Police say he pulled a ski mask down over his face and pulled out a black handgun from his waistband, pointing it at his victim.
The suspect dragged the victim behind the counter and demanded he open the register—which he did. The suspect removed approximately $390.
The suspect then asked for a bag and placed approximately 52 boxes of Newport cigarettes, valued at approximately $500, inside the bag.
The suspect then took the victim's ring, necklace and cell phone before dragging the victim to the rear office where the safe is located and demanded he open it.
The suspect, after the victim told him he didn't have a key, fled the business firing one shot inside the store which struck an interior wall.
The victim did not sustain any injuries.
Police are looking for a black male between 28-35 years of age, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds. The man has a full beard, possible long dreads and was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, red converse shoes, a black ski mask, and light colored latex gloves. He was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
The suspect, police say, fled in a dark blue 4-door vehicle.
