Police Probe Possible Miami Home Invasion
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) - Miami police are investigating reports of a home invasion in the 800 block of NW 21st Avenue. A teenage girl thought to have been abducted during the attack was later located safely at work.
Miami Police spokesperson Kenia Reyes said they received a call just before 5 p.m. that two men apparently burst into a home where a woman was inside. Police said the men apparently tied up the woman, beat her with a hammer, and ransacked the house. They fled from the home in a car stolen from the property.
The woman, whose name was not immediately available, was taken to Ryder Trauma center by Miami Fire Rescue to be treated for injuries to her face and head, police said. She is expected to make a full recovery.
Police have issued a be-on-the-lookout alert for two cars believed to have been stolen from the house, a 2008 White Lexus with the Florida license plate 153 XTG.
Anyone with information about the suspects is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
