Family & Police Ask For Help Locating Missing Homestead Woman

HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami) – The Homestead Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a missing woman who suffers from Alzheimer's.
Ten members of Miriam Pichardo's family filed into the Homestead Police Department hoping someone knows something.
Pichardo is 57 years old, suffers from early on-set Alzhiemer's disease and is missing since Saturday morning.
Pichardo's daughter said the family needs help from the community.
They have been passing out flyers everywhere they can think of in Homestead.
Every hour they are not working, they are searching day and night.
At the press conference, Carlos Pichardo, Miriam's husband, held up the last picture he has of his 57-year-old wife.
Alzheimer's is not just a disease of old age. Up to five percent of people with the disease have early onset Alzheimer's, which often appears when someone is in their 40s or 50s.
"She has been without her medicine. She has been without food and water and alone," said son-in-law Frank Moc.
Miriam Pichardo was last seen wearing a white nightgown with green stripes.
Homestead Police have diligently searched, even into the Florida Keys.
"She worked in several locations there. As we know from Alzheimer's patients they usually go where they know and are comfortable with," said Detective Fernando Morales.
