PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) – Pembroke Pines police now have a suspect in custody in connection to the murder of Miami-Dade Corrections Officer Daveon Hall.
Brian Fairweather, 29, is charged with premeditated first-degree murder.
The arrest report states Hall was in a relationship with the killer's estranged wife, Tracey Vassall, who lived right next to him.
According to the arrest report, Fairweather confronted Hall a few days before the murder.
The night before the murder, Fairweather allegedly spent the night with his estranged wife.
Vassall told police that Fairweather owns a revolver which he always carries.
A BSO crime lab report states a revolver was used in the killing.
Pembroke Pines police said Hall was murdered inside his Pembroke Pines apartment last January.
His mother made the discovery when he didn't show up for work.
News of an arrest finally let her breathe a sigh of relief.
"Oh I was excited. I was screaming. I was praying. I was just so ecstatic," Barbara Drummond said.
