Police Looking For Suspects Behind Coconut Grove Home Invasion

COCONUT GROVE (CBSMiami) – Police have released a description of the two suspects behind a home invasion Saturday that left one man shot in the stomach.

Miami Police are looking for one black male, approximately 22-24 years of age, 6 feet tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing a bandana over the face and a brown t-shirt with red lettering. The second suspect is described as a black male, between roughly between the ages of 22-24 with a medium build. During the incident he was wearing a grey hooded sweater and a bandana over his face.

According to MPD, the victim, Mr. Jean-Paul Lausell and his family arrived at their home on Margaret Street in Coconut Grove after a Halloween party around 3 a.m.

Upon arriving, as they were off-loading items from their car into the home, they were approached by two masked and armed men, demanding their money and jewelry.

Lausell heard the commotion and ran in the front of the home to confront one of the subjects, according to authorities.

A struggle between the man and Lausell occurred and Lausell, authorities say, was knocked to ground and shot in the abdomen area.

The other victims, who were seeking refuge in the garage, came out to help Lausell but the gunmen pointed their weapons at them and continued to demand their property.

Both subjects then fled the home.
