Police Looking For Fatal Hit & Run Driver

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Police are looking for the driver responsible for fatally hitting a 30-year-old man while he was riding his motorcycle.
Jason Swanson was on a motorcycle going southbound on South 56th Avenue and Washington Street Sunday when he was struck by what Hollywood Police believe was a female driver in a 1987-2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, dark in color.
Around 8:15 PM, the Hollywood Police Department received a call that a motorcyclist was on the ground of South 56th Avenue.
After police arrived on the scene, officers found Swanson on fire in the middle of the street. Officers attempted to extinguish the flames and render aid until Hollywood Fire Rescue arrived.
Swanson, police said, died on scene.
Investigators are looking for the Ford Explorer which should have damage to the running boards on the front driver's side and/or the passenger side.
Witnesses told police they saw a female driver exit the vehicle and observe the victim on the ground. The female driver then got back into her vehicle and fled. Witnesses said there was a young passenger in the car, approximately 8-12 years of age.
