Police: iPhone Bandit Beat & Shot At Manager In Botched Heist
MIAMI SPRINGS (CBS4) - Miami Springs Police are looking for an armed robber who viciously beat and shot at an AT&T employee before fleeing the scene.
According to CBS4 News partner The Miami Herald, police responded to the scene at 143 Westward Drive just around 2 p.m. Saturday. Employees told investigators that a man wearing a bandanna and carrying a pillowcase shouted at store manager Mike Mabjish and forced him to lay on the floor while he attempted to steal iPhones. While Mabjish was on the floor, the robber beat him on the head with a 9mm pistol.
Mabjish was able to flee the store but police say the robber chased him down and shot at him three times. He was not hit by any of the bullets.
The robber fled without any merchandise is what is believed to be a black Buick Enclave SUV.
