Police-Involved Shooting In Coral Springs
CORAL SPRINGS (CBSMiami) - A suspect was transported Tuesday evening after an officer-involved shooting in Coral Springs.
According to the Coral Springs Police Department, around 7:15 Tuesday evening police responded to a domestic dispute near Royal Palm Drive and NW 123rd Avenue in Coral Springs.
When officers arrived they took positions around the house trying to get the brothers to come out, according to police.
One of the brothers, according to the Chief, came out of the garage armed with a knife and confronted an officer--that's when the shots were fired.
"Anybody in law enforcement will tell you the most dangerous of calls to go is a domestic disturbance because you're going into a heated situation and you have tempers flaring and a lot of time we're not the ones that people want there but we have to be there to try and keep the peace," said Chief Tony Pustizzi of Coral Springs PD.
The suspect, according to police, was shot in the torso and was transported to trauma.
The officer was not injured.
