MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It was a day of mayhem in Miami Gardens as police investigated a series of shootings that included a man hit in the face.
Neighbors told CBS4's Hank Tester the shootings stem from a grudge between gangs that live in apartment buildings in the area.
Tuesday's feud started at 3:30 p.m. and lasted over an hour, spanning four locations.
Miami Gardens police arrived to a location on NW 183rd Street and NW 33rd Avenue where reports had come in that shots were fired.
Finding nothing at that site, their attention was turned to the Sunoco on NW 185th Street and 27th Avenue.
That's where the man shot in the face was found at a nearby carwash owned by Robert Holdhauser.
"Things happen everywhere man, happen everywhere," Holdhauser said. "Just unfortunate it happens in a place it doesn't take place."
Apparently no one "saw anything" and no one claims to know the individual.
The man was bandaged up and taken to the Jackson Memorial Hospital.
In the past three days, plenty has gone down in the city that will host the Super Bowl in 2020.
A Miami Gardens police officer was almost shot point-blank while making a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
On Monday, a teenage driver backed up into a police cruiser and took off – almost running over an officer. The police shoot at him and two teens in the car were hit.
The driver was arrested while the other teens were taken to the hospital where they're in stable condition.
Lots of folks attended a meeting Tuesday with their own Miami Gardens' stories.
"The area is, is, is, real scary," said Nancy Clark, a concerned parent. "They fear for their lives."
They hope to get Congresswomen Fredericka Wilson involved.
