MIAMI(CBSMiami) – There are disturbing new details Friday night in the robbery and murder of 65-year-old grandmother from Kendall.
According to the newly released arrest report, 33-year-old Liz Corcho and her boyfriend, 27-year-old Carlos Mojica, cased a shopping center looking for someone to rob.
The duo, according to police, targeted Vicki Feeley, who CBS4 has learned was at a Shula Burger restaurant at 7:45 Saturday night.
Police said they followed Feeley to her Kendall home near SW 112th St. and SW 128th Ct.
The report states 20 minutes later, as Feeley was unloading items from her car, Mojica tried to grab her purse.
In chilling detail, the report continues that Corcho proceeded to accelerate the vehicle with Feeley's arm still around the handle of her purse.
Feeley fell under the suspect's pickup truck and was run over.
The report also stated Corcho's 3-year-old daughter was inside the silver Dodge Ram pickup truck throughout this crime and said Corcho gave a videotaped confession.
The report added Mojica and Corcho rummaged through Feeley's purse and found a checkbook.
Corcho reportedly forged a check and tried to cash it at a Homestead bank. It alerted police and she was arrested.
Miami-Dade police were able to track Mojica to this trailer park complex in Florida City where he lives with Corcho.
Police said they were forced to fire at Mojica, wounding him, after he rammed a police car with the stolen truck and refused to get out of the vehicle as seen on new cellphone video.
"Thirteen gunshots is what I heard," witness Victoria Cancio said. "It was really quite terrible. I didn't grow up around here. It was really bad."
Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez was on the scene of the shooting Thursday night.
"What we do know is there was a violent confrontation with the subject who rammed one of our police vehicles here and potentially almost struck one of our officers on foot trying to approach him and that lead to the shootout," he said.
The president of the Miami-Dade Police Benevolent Association said he was grateful no officers were injured in the shooting.
"Tonight we are lucky once again no officer was injured. The officers acted bravely," John Rivera said. "In much the same manner that he tried to kill the woman, he tried to run over the officer and they had to take action and there was gunfire."
Mojica was taken to Jackson Memorial hospital South where he is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Corcho went before a judge in bond court Thursday, charged in a horrible crime that lead to the death of Feeley.
"You were arrested on a case of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon," the judge said.
Corcho has been charged in the past with assault and battery and petit theft.
Mojica has an extensive record that includes past charges for burglary, battery and a home invasion robbery.
He has not been charged with the murder so far, but is being held on charges including the aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and grand theft.
