OCOEE (CBSMiami/AP) — Being a Good Samaritan can be a dangerous endeavor.
Police in central Florida say four people were stabbed while trying to intervene in a couple's fight in a parking lot.
In a statement, Sgt. Mark Bousquet says Ocoee Police officers discovered the four victims while responding to a disturbance at a restaurant early Sunday.
According to Bousquet, witnesses reported seeing a man punch a woman in the parking lot.
Bousquet says the couple pulled out knives when onlookers tried to stop the fight, and four people were stabbed.
The victims were hospitalized. Police arrested 26-year-old Nicholas Matthew Schonwit on domestic battery charges and 25-year-old Tiffany Lee Pompino on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Orange County jail records did not show whether Schonwit or Pompino had attorneys.
Bousquet says additional charges are pending.
